About My Traffic Sketch

My Traffic Sketch grew out of a practical need: documenting vehicle incidents in the field, quickly, without expensive software, an account, or a desktop CAD program. The people who most often need a collision diagram — an officer at a scene, a security guard at a gate, a driver in a parking lot, an adjuster on the phone — usually need it in the next ten minutes, on whatever device they have.

So the editor runs entirely in the browser, saves the draft locally on the device, and exports a single-page report with the diagram, the vehicle table, the narrative and a legend. No sign-up, no upload, no watermark.

The editor is designed for police officers, security personnel, adjusters, investigators, fleet teams and drivers who need a quick visual diagram. Road templates, photo tracing, auto-numbered vehicles, plates, arrows, measurements in feet or meters, a compass and a scale bar cover the common cases; everything else can be drawn by hand.

Every diagram on this site — in the guides, the articles and the worked-example library — was drawn with the My Traffic Sketch editor itself. We do not use stock accident imagery or diagrams from other sources.

The example scenarios are fictional, and their plates, positions and distances are invented for teaching. When an example includes a number (a skid length, a distance to an impact point), it is labeled illustrative: a real diagram records what you actually measured, and the articles repeatedly say so.

Articles show a publication date and, when a piece is materially revised, a visible updated date. We revise when the tool gains features, when an example can be made clearer, or when readers point out something confusing.

• ▸Fictional example data (plates, names, distances) is identified as fictional.

No account is required. Drafts are stored locally in the browser so users remain in control of their working copy — nothing you draw is uploaded to us. Export the PDF or PNG when you finish; that file is your record.

My Traffic Sketch is intended to remain free. Advertisements are placed outside the canvas and controls so they do not interrupt sketch creation.
