Accident diagram maker: draw a clear collision diagram in your browser
My Traffic Sketch is a free accident diagram maker that runs entirely in your browser. Pick a road layout or trace over a photo of the actual scene, place the vehicles involved, add arrows and measurements, and export a report-ready PDF — without installing anything or creating an account.
Open the accident diagram makerWhat the diagram maker includes
Everything you need for a legible collision diagram is built in:
- ▸23 roadway templates with previews: 4-way crossings, T and Y junctions, roundabouts, highways and ramps, angled and vertical parking lots, a gas station and more.
- ▸A road tool to draw your own layout when no template matches — roads can be widened, bent into curves and snapped together.
- ▸Scene photo tracing: paste an aerial screenshot or photo, dim it, rotate it and draw on top.
- ▸Vehicles that carry a license plate and description, numbered automatically (V1, V2…).
- ▸Arrows for direction of travel, a measuring tool in feet or meters, text notes and street names.
- ▸A north arrow and scale bar that print on the export.
Why the export looks like a report, not a screenshot
The PDF and PNG exports add a titled header with your case number, date and officer name, a vehicle table listing each plate and description, your written narrative, and a legend of scene elements. That structure is what separates a usable accident diagram from a rough drawing — the reader can identify every vehicle without asking you.
Your draft stays on your device
The diagram maker saves your draft locally in the browser, so you can close the tab and continue later. Nothing you draw is uploaded — which also means you should export and keep your own copy when you finish.
How it works
- 1. Open the editor and pick a road template, or paste a photo of the scene.
- 2. Tap a vehicle in the palette, then tap the canvas to place it. Rotate and position it, and add the plate.
- 3. Draw travel arrows, mark the impact point and add measurements.
- 4. Write a short narrative and export the finished diagram as PDF or PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Is the accident diagram maker really free?
Yes. The editor and both export formats are free and require no account.
Can I use my own photo of the scene?
Yes — paste or upload an aerial photo and draw the diagram on top of it, with an opacity slider so your markings stay readable.
Are the measurements official?
No. Measurements are illustrative aids. Verify every distance independently before official use.
